Journal 2: Your neighborhood-either at FGCU or at your childhood home. Use all of your senses to describe the things you care about and that you notice.
The environment I am surrounded around has always kept me at peace and sane. AS I take walks I notice different things that surprise me each and every day. Not that I am a particularly nature enthusiastic person but I do enjoy my time alone with a daily walk to clear my head from all the stresses of life such as college , working and dealing with all the organizations that I am a part of.
While on my walks I encounter numerous things that I would not see if I spent all my time indoors. Being that I live in the state of Florida I don’t ever think there is a time of the year that I don’t see lizards or geckos , I sometimes feel that I am the only girl I know not afraid of them. In the summer with all the rain that comes in , there is an array of animals that I come in contact with . I love the smell of the rain and the pitter-patter of it against my windows. After the rain comes the rib bit of the frogs and the chirping of the crickets, surely keep my attention.
My environment is filled with excitement especially at Florida Gulf Coast University. The amount of wild life that can be seen on campus is tremendous. The other day I was driving and the cars in front of me stopped out of nowhere; it turns out there was a family of wild boar crossing the road! I was the most bizarre thing I have ever seen in my life. With over half the land on campus as a nature preserve there is never a time that you don’t run into some type of animal.
